Towards the end of my article I talk about an overarching product vision being even more important in Kanban than in Scrum. I would see the product vision as being a superset of the Sprint goal. Most of my criticisms are not about the vision (or lack thereof) in Scrum, but rather about the unnecessary deadlines that have nothing to do with achieving that goal.
