Good try, but I disagree with this article in several ways. First, the title "the truth about..." is misleading. It's not the "truth" at all! It's your opinion.

Second, the benefits that you raised are not properties of estimation, but rather of planning. I have a pet hate of trying to excuse estimation as a roundabout way to develop understanding, when the direct route would be to just have those discussions directly.

Anyway, hopefully your next article is more accurate.
